Privacy Notice

This notice explains what Greenup County Inmate Population may collect, how that information is used, and when it may be shared. By using this site, you accept the practices described here. Public-record information reached through Kentucky courts, jail offices, KOOL, VINE, BOP, ICE, or Open Records Act requests is controlled by the agency or third-party service that provides it.

Information You Choose to Submit

Search Terms

When a visitor types a name, location, or other query into a search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Greenup County Inmate Population does not store those search terms in its own records.

Messages

If you send an email or other message, the information you provide may be kept long enough to read it, respond, and maintain basic business records. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.

Information Collected Automatically

Normal website and analytics systems may collect technical information when pages load, including:

  • IP address.
  • Browser name and version.
  • Device type and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and time spent on pages.
  • Referring website, when one is available.
  • Date and time stamps.

Cookies

Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand site traffic, measure page performance, remember basic preferences, and support advertising or analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some features may work differently afterward.

How Information Is Used

  • To keep the site available, functional, and reasonably fast.
  • To pass search requests to the appropriate partner service.
  • To understand which Greenup County jail, court, and locator pages visitors use.
  • To identify errors, broken links, security issues, and technical problems.
  • To display advertising that may be based on general interests or browsing activity.

Outside Websites and Public Records

This site links to Greenup County jail and sheriff pages, Kentucky Court of Justice systems, KOOL, VINE, public-safety open-records resources, BOP, ICE, and third-party search tools. Once you leave this site, the privacy policy and data practices of the destination site apply.

Some public-record information may be available from government sources under the Kentucky Open Records Act, including KRS 61.871 and KRS 61.872. This site does not control how a public agency collects, releases, redacts, stores, or denies access to those records.

Advertising partners may use their own cookies or identifiers to measure ads or show interest-based advertising across websites. That tracking happens through their systems, not through a Greenup County government system.

Who May Receive Information

Personal information is not sold as a list. It may be shared with limited categories of recipients when needed:

  • Search partners that process queries entered into their tools.
  • Analytics providers that measure site performance and usage.
  • Advertising networks that support ad delivery and measurement.
  • Law enforcement, courts, regulators, or government bodies when a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or other legal process requires it.

Security

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect information handled by this site. No internet-connected website, email system, analytics service, or partner search tool can be guaranteed completely secure.
